The Memorial Day Festival and Car Show was an amazing event. It was a great opportunity for three organizations to come together for the first time and host a huge event for the museums benefit. There were almost 1600 people in attendance, 150+ cars displayed, precision flying planes, great Bluegrass music and photographers everywhere. The 94 year-old Tuskegee Airman Eldridge Williams spent the entire day meeting folks and signing autographs. Our photo exhibit received lots of votes and we are looking forward to declaring a winner once the exhibit closes! You can still go by the museum to see the wonderful photos.
The day was warm for this time in the year, but there was no rain and the planes had great weather to be in the air! We had some outstanding precision fly-bys that were much appreciated by the crowd, particularly by the aviation buffs and photographers in the crowd.
We are already working on next’s years Festival. The museum and their partners are already triaging this year’s event and working to eliminate any hiccups that we experienced yesterday! So save May 24, 2014 for our next Memorial Day Festival. It is going to be bigger and better than it was this year!
Watch Facebook for additional photographs in the coming weeks. If you were at the event and would like to share your photos, message us on Facebook and we will create your own personal album to share them from!
